In the year 2000-2001 Soundarya nagar came into light with the emergence of few houses here and there, The existing situation was such that there were no proper roads ,the mud roads were filled with stones and thorny bushes which was very difficult to navigate.
During the nights you could visualise just like stars in the sky the low lit electric bulb of a very few houses which was badly in-need of proper electric voltage.
During the rainy season,The roads used to completely get filled completely with rain water, also a few of the houses used get badly affected as the rain water used to gush into their houses.
The overall picture of our layout was it was filled with lush green trees and plants with cultivation happening around by farmers and local landlords around our designated layout resembling our Native village.
This was tough time for the residents with lack of basic amenities. Only few of the houses had telephone connections, most of the communications in between the existing residents used to happen though whistling or through Loud shouts.
To catch a bus for transport or to go to work ,you had to walk to bonemill bus stop.
After 7 PM nobody used venture out of their houses in and around this locality. This was the situation when a few of right minded residents got together and decided to do something to improve their overall standard of living conditions.
Meanwhile,A few children’s of our area got together and formed “SMS” also known as Super makkala sainya ,they went around all the houses announcing that they will conduct a cultural program for all the children of this area ,sought help in the form donations from the local residents to conduct the programs.
This was an inspiration to all the residents to gather and form a strong bond among themselves and Also co-operate with local leaders, officials and few influential personalities for the overall Betterment of the area.
Around 25-30 residents met in Siddedshwara temple and decided to form a local residents welfare association which was named as “Soundaryanagar welfare association”,the members of the above said association prepared our first by-laws and on 18-10-2002 got the association got registered with Registrar of co-operative societies and also created managing committee and office bearers to look into the difficulties faced by the members and local residents in our area.
